These digital health terms are written from the perspective of an interactive system in which individuals initially encounter a health protocol as a potential or (prospective) customer, trying it out at no-cost, with the possibility purchasing related products and services in the future (becoming a customer).
Customer
Participants who have converted from prospects by purchasing additional products or services.
Enroll
Process of registering for and beginning participation in a specific wellness protocol.
Intention
The intention of the participant as they perform their intervention - the desired outcome, either in qualitative or quantitative terms.
Interactive Engagement
Digital nudges, notifications, and check-ins promoting consistent participant activity.
Interactive Protocol
Health instructions that are delivered dynamically through a series of digital notifications and engagement methods.
Intervention

Outcome Assessment
Standardized or self-reported metrics used to evaluate the success of a protocol.
Participant
The health-seeking individual engaging with the interactive protocol.
Practitioner

Progress Tracking
Systematic capture and analysis of participant interactions to assist with follow-through by the participant and follow-up by the practitioner.
Prospect
Individuals initially using the protocol without immediate financial commitment, potential future customers.
Static Protocol
Traditional wellness content without active engagement or dynamic interaction. A “passive” document intended for self-supported implementation.
Supporter
An individual who commits to supporting the participant in their intervention. Supporters can be provided with access to progress tracking artifacts of the person they are supporting. Typically a practitioner is a supporter or another participant, often providing mutual support.
Targeted Outcome
Specific, measurable health benefit or wellness improvement intended by the protocol.
Task/Step
Individual actions within a protocol that a participant is prompted to complete.
